Spring Treats

Late last night I decided to make a little something special for the girls. My dear and sweet mom sent me THIS recipe for the most adorable bunny cupcakes. As I was looking for other fun ideas to make on the website, I found THIS recipe for cute chick cupcakes. I knew that I had to make both!

Instead of using the marshmellows for the bunny bellies, I thought they looked better as bunny tails. ;) I also used the regular sized chocolate chips for eyes instead of the miniatures. (They were all I had here.)

Off to add some color to a bunch of pale looking eggs! ;)

A Birthday in Oz

Three years ago today Zella was born. It is amazing to see how smart, sassy, spunky, funny, loving, and independent she has become within these past three years.
This year our little "Dorothy" wanted a Wizard of Oz birthday party. When our children guests arrived, they had to follow the yellow brick road to the craft table to color Wizard of Oz pictures and make Somewhere Over the Rainbow bracelets out of pipe cleaners and fruit loops.

Zella never really was able to finish hers since she ate them while she strung them on.

We then enjoyed a delicious mid afternoon treat to a veggie pizza, chips and dip, and fruit medley. Shortly after it was present time!

After presents, it was time to clean up,

because we had to make room for cake!

I found the idea to make the design of the cake from coolest-birthday-cakes.com. I found the Dorothy Cake idea HERE! This website has the most creative ideas for birthday cakes. Remember the Spongebob cake from last year? We found the idea to make it there too. I found Dorothy and all of her friends on Ebay.
Zella did a triple take on blowing out her candles this year. As soon as I lit two of them she felt the urge to blow them out immediately. And then again when I lit all three of them before we even sang "Happy Birthday" It was so funny!

Happy Birthday Zelly Belly!! We all love you so much!

Xiera in Wonderland

On Sunday Xiera celebrated her 5th Birthday Party. We celebrated a bit early this year since her official birthday is on Wednesday.
The theme: Alice in Wonderland of course!
Her dress was made by Kristen and her mother Carol of bluebottledesigns.
The party was so much fun and the theme helped me think up the neatest games and crafts for the kiddos to do.
For craft time there were coffee filter flowers for the children to make from Wonderland's Garden.

Some fun with face painting.

A little Croquet

And pin the tail on the White Rabbit

The children enjoyed an outdoor Mad Hatter Tea Party in the beautful sunshine.

Xiera took a bite of her teacup shaped cookie and said, "I'm Shrinking!" LOL!

On the tea cups I put "Drink Me" labels and the tea cup shaped cookies read "Eat Me" in icing.

I stayed up in the wee hours of the night and early morning making Xiera's Tea Pot Cake. I was so pleased with how it turned out! I found this great website with a wonderful tutorial on how to make one HERE.

It was a HUGE hit. I wasn't sure if it would feed everyone who attended the party so I also made 2 batches of cupcakes, just in case. :)
Make a Wish Sweetheart!

Happy 5th Birthday Xiera! Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Who Lives In a Pineapple Under The Sea?

Well Sponge Bob does of course!! Zella's birthday party turned out to be such a fun party!
The kids played pin the pants on Sponge Bob. Zella liked to play without her blindfold.

And then a little silly time.

I got Zella's adorable dress from Kim of 1976cook on Ebay. She makes the most adorable pillowcase character dresses. Her bow to match was made by my talented friend Jeanine of Monkey Cheek Boutique.

Then it was cake time!!!

Mmmmm Yummy! Her adorable Sponge Bob Party hat was made by Posh Party Couture.

Time to open presents!

Ceadar Hill Heirlooms made her adorable name puzzle! And look at this little dolly we got Zella!

Isn't she just the cutest and sweetest thing you have ever seen? She was custom made by Kimmie of The Whimsy Patch She makes the cutest and most unique dollies I have ever seen! Don't forget to check out her BLOG! She wrote a little story about mini dolly Zella there. ;) She has a little story about most of her dolls she creates! Too CUTE!!!

Happy Birthday Zella!

Sweet "Bob Bob" Dreams!

SUCCESS

Hubby and I stayed up until 4:30
this morning working on Zella's cake for her special day today. I then woke up with the girls at 7:30 this morning. I am officially sleep deprived and running on caffeine from my cup of coffee. We are having her Sponge Bob Birthday party later on this afternoon. I have to say that hubby worked the hardest on him putting him together. I baked the cake and made the icing and was also in charge of cleaning up the aftermath.

I think he turned out pretty AWESOME!

THIS website gave us all the tips and ideas on how to make him. I used a Lasagna dish and 2 boxes of Betty Crocker's cake mix. I then made my own homemade butter creme icing for the yellow on his face and body parts. We used Betty Crocker White and Chocolate Icing for his shirt, pants, socks and eyes and Wilson icing for his eyes pupils, mouth/tongue, black outlining, and stripes for his socks. We also used Swiss Rolls for his legs and feet, Ding Dongs for his pants legs, and Twinkies for his shirt sleeves.

Xiera gave her approval early this morning and then asked, "Mommy, where are his holes?" The thought that crossed my mind at that very moment was, "OOPS!!" To which I then replied, "Well honey he didn't feel like wearing them today." Okay I know, what a silly reply, but she was pleased with this answer and just smiled. ;)

Now I have to get back to all the party preparations. I will post pictures of the party soon. ;)

Our Christmas Eve

The girls have been helping me with the baking and the cooking the past couple of days. We made Chocolate Chip Cookies, No Bake Cookies, Chocolate Pretzel Candies, Gingerbread Cookies, and Fruit Salad.
Xiera was my BIG helper when making the chocolate pretzel candy treats.

Zella was in charge of the M&M's and Hersery Kisses, sneaking a few bites here and there. ;)

We visited my parents tonight for Christmas Eve. Xiera and Zella loved my parents Choo Choo Train ornament. When you turn on the switch it plays the tune to Jingle Bells and the train goes around and around on the track inside.

Zella was really impressed with Grandma's Manger Scene. (The True meaning of Christmas!) ;)

Xiera loved making her new Tink doll fly while watching her New Tinkerbell movie.

We then went and drove around the neighborhood Oooooing and Awwwwing over the neighbor's Christmas lights.

Merry Christmas Everyone and many blessings from our home to yours!

B-Day Blast!

Zella's first birthday party turned out wonderful! I slaved baking cupcakes for the party until 4 in the morning the night before or rather the morning of, but I have to say the table looked so picture perfect with all those pretty little cupcakes! (You can see the pin the sprinkles on the cupcake game that I made for the kids to play beyond the cupcakes on the wall.)

Xiera was in charge of the balloons. Well actually she just begged and begged for a pretty purple one until I finally caved in after singing Happy Birthday! ;)

Zella ended up sleeping for half of her party. She slept through the opening of her presents. LOL!

But she finally woke up just in time for us to sing Happy Birthday to her..flashing us dirty looks the whole time. ;)

Happy First Birthday Zelly Belly! Mommy Loves You!!

With Love,

Lindsay
