This summer has been lazy, crazy, and fun for us so far. Some of our lazy moments included me kicking back on the porch looking at my latest crochet magazine I received in the mail while daydreaming of what to crochet next.

Getting our nails done by my cousin Mandy.

Going outside to just fly a kite.

And picking mulberries off of our tree to make homemade mulberry pudding cake.

Our fun moments included going swimming,

putt putt golfing,

birthday parties with friends,

riding elephants and camels at Idle Hour Ranch,

and visiting King's Island on daddy's birthday.

And last, but certainly not least our crazy home improvement moments...
staining the front porch...

painting...

installing new carpet...

And resealing the long driveway.

Every day is an adventure over here.

Summer Sister Portraits

Yesterday I took the girls to Wegerzyn Park for a fun sister photo shoot. The weather was perfect! The temperature was in the high 70's with no humidity, lots of sunshine, and blue skies. The girls wore their cute matching sister dress sets. I had purchased the dress sets earlier this past spring from Mellonmonkeys on Etsy.

My little "thumb sucker" had a visit today with the orthodontist. She is six years old and hasn't kicked her bad habit quite yet. All of her front permanent teeth are all grown in and she is ruining them. Because of this, she is having a thumb habit corrector appliance put in within two weeks and it looks like braces may be in her future. She isn't exactly thrilled with this and still thinks that she will continue sucking her thumb once this appliance is in. She is such a defiant yet sweet little thing.
There is never a dull moment with these two, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Embellishing Flip Flops

This past weekend I discovered a box of flip flops I had purchased last year. I guess I got so caught up with custom orders and other projects that I forgot about them. I decided to change these simple and plain flip flops into fun and fabulous flip flops by adding some colorful crochet flowers and leaves.

I have already listed most of these in my Etsy store. The yellow Sherbet Dreams flip flops are already sold but I plan to make another similar pair to add to my store.

These Island Escape pink flamingo Flip Flops are a size 8-9 in little girls. They are one of a kind and you can find them in my Etsy store HERE.

The Pool Side Flips Flops were made to match Gymboree's Aqua Summer Line, and the Gap's We Love Geo Prints Line. They are a size 12-13 and you can find them HERE in my Etsy store.

These next flip flops were made to match Gymboree's Surf Adventure Line. They are a size 12-13 in little girls and you can find them HERE.

Last are the Ice Cream Social flip flops. They are one of a kind and are a size 8-9 in little girls. You can find them in my Etsy store HERE.
