The Emma Dress Set

I had a dear customer of mine request a very sweet pineapple stitch dress set for her infant daughter, Emma. So for the past few weeks, I worked every moment on it and am so proud to finally show off the finished piece.


She only wanted the matching booties with the dress but I felt it needed that precious little beret to complete it.

For a little accent, I added three fresh water pearl beads to the center of the crochet flower and sewed it on.

I can't wait to see pictures of sweet little Emma wearing this dress. This is going to be her Easter dress.

Spring Break Vacation

Last week for spring break we went on a wonderful family vacation in Florida.
On our first day of our vacation we visited Universal Studios in Orlando. This was a first time visit for us all and we absolutely LOVED it.

The girls love the movie Despicable Me so of course we had to ride the Minion Mayhem.

They had to have there very own unicorns (from the movie) so they could squeeze them with love and say with excitement, "He's so fluffy!"

The second day of our vacation, we visited the most famous castle of them all in Disney World.

Shortly after our visit, we had to take cover because of a tornado warning. The storm hit while we were riding the teacups which put a damper on things.

We were blessed to have decided to go to Universal Studios the day before because a tornado did touch down there during this storm tearing up a few rides. We were lucky enough to have only been drenched in Disney.
We took the lemons that mother nature threw at us and turned them into lemonade by drying off with a fun ride on Space Mountain. Then we visited Zella's favorite Disney princess EVER, Merida from Brave.

For our third day of our vacation, we visited Island Adventure of Universal. Our first stop there; Hogwarts of course!!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter was AMAZING!! We went inside the Hogwarts castle and rode the Harry Potter The Forbidden Journey ride. This ride was AWESOME and is me and Xiera's new favorite ride of all time!

We visited Honeydukes candy shoppe. It was so neat to see the most popular wizarding sweets from the series there! Zella got a bag of cotton candy and Xiera got her very own pink pigmy puff.


On our fourth day, we visited Jupiter Beach and spent most of our day there soaking up the sun, playing in the sand and ocean, and watching daddy boogie boarding.


On our fifth day we had a shopping day in West Palm at City Place. Zella took her giant unicorn with her EVERYWHERE she went.

On our last day of our visit, we climbed the 105 steps to the top of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse.

The lighthouse was built in 1860 and is supposed to be haunted. People claim to feel cold spots, and the feeling of being touched. We didn't feel anything unusual although Xiera did say she felt someone tap her on the shoulder going up and glanced behind her to see that no one was there....hmmmm...
The scene at the top was GORGEOUS! You could see the beautiful coast for miles.

In the evening, we took a stroll along the beach and dock, collecting seashells and taking in the beautiful beach scene one last time.


Happy Easter everyone! Today we are coloring eggs and visiting with family. Then tomorrow it is back to reality with school and work.

Hoppity Hop Easter orders are all finished

I just finished this adorable order for two Easter bunny hats. It has been awhile since I have made this style of a hat so I was really thrilled when a dear customer of mine placed an order for them. I upgraded my design and made the base of the hat a bit more thicker by crocheting with two strands of yarn at once instead of just one.
I just love the lavender and pastel yellow color choice. They compliment each other beautifully I think.

Treasure the Bunny Purse

My dear friend Linda had asked me if I could crochet a bunny purse for her granddaughter Adyson. I had a pattern for one that I always wanted to try. Meet, Treasure the Bunny Purse. She is perfect for your little one to hide and carry all of her special "treasures". I found the pattern in the Cute Critter Purses to Crochet pattern book designed by Cindy Harris.

I wanted to make the bunny more girly and sweet so I added a pink bow instead of blue and sewed pink and white polka dotted fabric inside the ears. I also made the tail more fluffy and fun by using white soft textured yarn.

Isn't she sweet?

Zella wants me to make her one now so I know what I will be working on this weekend. :)

Ice Cream Sandwiches Help

Zella has had her two bottom teeth lose for awhile now and I had noticed this past weekend that they were ready to come out. After dinner last night we had ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Zella told me that she felt like her tooth was about to come out. When she flashed me a smile from excitement, I had noticed a space where her bottom right front tooth had been. I said, "I think your tooth already came out." She gave me a look of surprise and then proceeded to check for her tooth with her tongue and then her finger. We looked on her dinner plate and on the floor. We examined the ice cream sandwich. She then gave me a worried look and said, "Mommy, I think I ate it!" Apparently chocolate covered teeth are delicious. ;) Xiera helped her little sister by writing an apology letter to place underneath Zella's pillow for the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy must not have been too upset because Zella found money and a trail of fairy glitter along her pillow side early this morning. She was so excited.

We had a wonderful Easter this past weekend. We visited my parents on Saturday for an early Easter dinner and the girls enjoyed hunting for eggs around their home.

The girls found all but one egg out of the 24 that were hidden.


That last egg must be hidden in a wonderful place because even 5 adults were unable to find it.
Zella didn't seem to mind and wasted no time checking each egg for yummy candy treasures.

For Easter Sunday the girls awoke to a trail of eggs obviously left by the Easter bunny himself.

The trail led to 2 baskets filled with funfilled toys and yummy candy treats.

We attended church that morning and the girls enjoyed yet another exciting egg hunt.
