This past weekend I decided to make my girls new spring hats. I had never made a slouch beret style hat before so I took on the challenge and came up with this!
I really LOVE how it turned out! It reminds me of the vintage Strawberry Shortcake hats Strawberry and her friends use to wear. I made it to match a duster sweater I had made Xiera awhile back which still fits her by the way! ;) Here is a front view of the hat.
And here is the back view!
The other hat I made is for Zella. It matches a custom spring outfit I had bought for her. I have had the gingham chick buttons for awhile now and finally had a chance to use them! Aren't they cute?
We took the girls on an Easter egg hunt this past Saturday. It was freezing and there was still snow on the ground from a few days prior. Xiera and Zella didn't mind at all though!
One of Xiera's eggs had a ticket inside and she was able to claim her prize. She picked out a pink bunny. Zella got LOTS of eggs this year!
The girls both enjoyed spending time and getting their pictures taken with the Easter bunny too!

Once Old and Now a Treasure
Every other week I like to go to our local flea market/antique store in town called the Old Red Barn. I usually find some really nice vintage buttons, old jars, yarn, dishes, and adorable nick nacks but today I was so excited to find THIS little set!!
I have been looking high and low for a nice little wooden table and chairs set for the girls to have and I FINALLY found one today. The lady who worked there said a nice man just dropped it off a half hour before I came. I can't get over how great of condition it is in! It was meant to be and I couldn't be more happier! I am going to go into town tomorrow to get a little table cloth for it! This is going to be treasured for years to come. I can already envision future tea parties, arts and crafts, yummy snacks, outside picnics and a summer lemonade stand!!

Rainy Days
We have been having lots and lots of rain this week. And Mother Nature called to tell us that we are to expect more; much more!
The girls have been making the most of it by splashing in puddles and playing in the mud.
We even had a few feathered visitors this morning.....and yes, that is the side of my yard that looks more like a lake! Even the ducks can't tell the difference!

It's Not Every Day....
You see a crayfish walking crawling across your driveway....
Xiera thinks he's cute and told me he got lost on his way to his island. Meanwhile Zella began screaming and ran as fast as she could the other way! *My little mini me.*

Announcing A Winner and Sharing a Little Something
I decided to use a random number generator to chose the winner for the Little Tooth Fairy Pillow and got the number........
Congrats to Cindy who said, "would love this for my son!" I will drop you an email so you can help me design your son's very own custom little tooth pillow. ;) Thanks to everyone who played! I plan on hosting giveaways every month so please keep checking back for more unique crochet goodies to win!
On a different note, can I just say how much I love Facebook? I just recently got back in contact with an old dear high school friend of mine on there. I haven't seen her in over 10 years and plan on meeting up with her and her beautiful family soon. I designed the cutest custom kitty cat hat for her daughter who is now 11 years old and want to share!! My goodness she was just a baby when I last saw her!
The kitty hat was made to resemble their family cat. ;) I just love how it turned out!
