This week, I created a unicorn hat for my youngest daughter who LOVES all things unicorn. Her favorite colors are white, rainbow, and silver so I incorporated all of these colors into the hat. The hat itself is mostly all white. The mane and pom pom balls are rainbow colored and the lavender horn has silver stitching around it. It shines in the light.

My daughter squealed with delight when she came home from school yesterday and saw this hat, and then wore it to school today to show it off to all of her friends. I think I achieved the best mom award this week from her. ;)

I have this hat available in my Etsy store now. You can find it HERE.

Things I Have Been Working On
I am officially all caught up with orders! What a wonderful feeling it is to actually say that! I have had quite a bit of orders this month and just finished and mailed out my last one today.
The hungry caterpillar hat was made for a sweet little girl who is turning one next week.

At the last minute her mom requested I stitch her name Elea Heart somewhere on the hat with her age 1. I decided to stitch her name onto the caterpillar's body and the last segment near the caterpillar's head, I stitched a heart to represent her name and a number one to represent the age she is turning. I think it turned out very cute!

St. Patrick's Day was earlier on this week, and I had quite a few bearded leprechaun hat orders.

What I love the most, is the customer pictures I received of the cuties who wore these hats on St. Patrick's Day! <3

For Etsy orders, I recreated another cute Dave the minion backpack.

And today I finished and mailed out this fun and colorful Rainbow Fish hat. It is a gift for a young man who loves fish.

It's Cookie Time

My daughter Zella and her Daisy Girl Scout Troop have been very busy selling girl scout cookies to help raise money for their troop. We worked at the cookie booth at our local grocery store and the girls really "ROCKED" it. They sold over 200 boxes within an hour and a half.

Since it is Zella's first year as a girl scout, she set a reasonable personal goal for herself of 225 boxes. So far she has sold 184 boxes and that isn't counting her sales from cookie booths so I think it is very possible she may reach her goal.

If her troop averages 225 boxes per girl in sales, they will get to see 5th Harmony in concert!! How exciting!

Father Daughter Dance

A little over a week ago, my husband took our daughters to their Father Daughter Dance. Xiera wore a pretty teal and white spring dress with matching teal shoes and Zella wore a sweet black, silver, and white flowing ruffle dress with flowers around the bodice with black tights and silver dress shoes. (Silver and white are her favorite colors.)

They were so excited to wear their corsages that matched their dresses.
They had a wonderful dinner date with dad and then loads of fun dancing with their dad and friends.

Someone Had a Birthday
The weekend before last Zella celebrated her 7th birthday. Her real birthday was on February 21st, so we had close family come over that evening to celebrate.

Zella loved spending her birthday evening with her grandparents and great-grandparents.

The Sunday that followed, Zella celebrated once again, but this time with all of her cousins and best friends from school at the roller skating rink.

She is a HUGE fan of all things unicorns and rainbows lately so we made that the theme. ;)

She had a wonderful 7th birthday surrounded by lots of love, laughter, and unicorns.

Lucky Leprechauns
I just love how these Lucky Leprechaun Beard Hats turned out. I made these for my dear customer's sons to wear. My daughters had a lot of fun modeling them even in the freezing temperatures we are having outside today.

This past week I finished this fun custom shark hat for a dear customer of mine. The lucky birthday girl that gets to wear this LOVES sharks and is having a shark themed birthday party. :)

I am very grateful to everyone at Homespun for this opportunity. What an honor!

Ruby The Rubik's Cube Valentine Box

Over the weekend, my daughter Xiera worked on her Valentine box for her upcoming Valentine party at school. She wanted something cute, retro, and kawaii. She fell in love with an adorable Rubik's cube box idea she found on Pinterest created by Tammy and Annie of Peppermint Plum. Xiera decided to recreate her own version. We substituted black construction paper in the place of the black foam paper it called for underneath the colorful foam block squares.

We also decided to cut the hole on top with an x-acto knife AFTER the box was complete. I helped with this part. ;)

Xiera requested an opening in the back to remove all of her Valentines and candy with ease so I used the x-acto knife once again to create this opening.

Xiera cannot wait to show off Ruby the Rubik's Cube to all of her friends this week at her Valentine party. We think it turned out very kawaii!

Daisy Petals Girl Scout Hat
My youngest daughter is a Daisy girl scout and has been very busy these past few weeks selling girl scout cookies. The weather has not been the greatest outside for door to door sales, and with booth sales approaching, I thought I would make her a little daisy girl scout hat to keep her head warm.

A Girl Scout Daisy earns her petals by participating and completing activities that represent each petal.

An activity for let's say the yellow petal, which represents friendly and helpful, can be as easy as bringing in a snack at a meeting and passing it out to each of her "daisy sisters" while also saying something nice to each of the girls.
By doing this kind gesture, she will get rewarded the yellow petal to add to her girl scout tunic.

Zella really enjoys being a Daisy Girl Scout and has made a lot of friends within her troop. She is learning so many valuable life lessons while having lots of fun!
