Little Girls and Earrings

A few weeks ago, Zella came home and told me she wanted her ears pierced. Now this is the same little girl that had told me right after seeing her big sister get her ears pierced a few years back, up until that moment she would NEVER EVER get her ears pierced. I had to know why she had this sudden change of heart so I asked. She told me that her best friends at school, the twins, had the cutest earrings and that she wanted to wear them too. She told me about their cool pizza slice earrings and their cute little puppy dog earrings. This conversation sounded very familiar. I remember coming home from school when I was about her age, begging my mom and dad for my ears to be pierced after seeing all of my friends wearing the coolest earrings. I remember that I actually wore Mrs. Potato earrings to school just so I could show that I had the coolest pair of earrings too. It didn't work out so well.

After she asked everyday for almost 16 days straight, we decided to take her after school to get her ears pierced. She was beyond excited! As soon as we arrived at Claires and notified the ladies working that she wanted her ears pierced, Zella already knew what to do. She sat in that piercing chair, picked out which earrings she wanted, and grabbed as many stuffed animals that her two arms could hold for support.

Soon it was piercing time.

Just look at that smile! And she didn't even blink a tear.

I really like the pretty sparkly flower earrings she picked out too. She is such a big and brave little lady! I am so proud of her!

Pretty Little Water Bottle Cozy

On the weekends, I enjoy going on nature walks with my family. There is a park nearby with the most amazing trails and beautiful scenery. This is my favorite time of year to go on those walks. I enjoy seeing all the fall colors, and smelling the crisp fall leaves that crunch under my feet. I decided to crochet something for myself to use on those walks. I had seen crochet patterns for water bottle holders and decided to make up one of my own.

Now when I go on those nature walks, my hands are water bottle free. Of course the girls are requesting I make them both one now too. :) I plan to add more water bottle cozy designs to my Etsy store soon. :)

Crocheting The Days Away

These past few weeks have been BUSY!! My little fingers and crochet hooks have been making some WONDERFUL hats and things for my beloved customers, family, and friends. I actually had to put my Etsy store on vacation until after Halloween, just so I can play catch up! Here are just some of the items I have been working on these past few weeks while I was missing from action in the blogosphere.

The last one is a Valentine inspired newborn stocking hat with matching diaper cover with a bracelet to match. I have a customer that is expecting a precious baby girl in January and I can't wait to see pictures of her wearing this!
As you can tell I have been super busy and this is only half of my orders, so I must get back to work! :)

My Little Geeky Chick

I had made this Geeky Chick Scarflette awhile back and sort of *GASP* forgot about it! I had my daughter model it for me yesterday evening and she really brought it to life.

I know that I am partial to this cutie patootie, but she does make the most adorable little bookworm in those glasses.

I plan to add this to my Etsy store, later on this week.

Back To School They Go!

Today was the girls first day back to school! They were both very excited and a little nervous. Xiera is now a fourth grader. She told me that when you are in fourth grade, backpack book bags are out and messenger bags are in. I found her cute messenger bag on Artfire.com. The bunny is the artwork of Chibibunny.

Zella insisted on dressing up for this special day and picked out a zebra printed dress to wear. She said she wanted to look fancy for her first day of first grade. She wanted a unicorn book bag this year and I was able to find one at Hanna Andersson with the lunch bag to match.

They wore their fancy footwear that they picked out.

And off they went onto that big yellow bus.

A Busy Crocheting Week

Cool fall weather is fast approaching and the custom orders are beginning to pour in. I have been working on something new every day. I finished two cute cloche hats this week for a dear customer of mine. I haven't made them in awhile so it was refreshing to make these. The first one is the Euro Garden Cloche.

The next one is the Whimsy Fun Cloche.

Both of these cloche hats are available in my Etsy store.
I also worked on two adorable purses. It had been almost two years since I had made a fairy mushroom house purse so it was exciting to make another. I just love this purse.

The latest purse I finished made me feel ready for fall. The cute little pumpkin purse is always a fall favorite of mine to create.

Both of these purses are available in my Etsy store. Now I am ready for a cup of hot apple cider and my favorite fall treat; candy corn.

The Minions Have Arrived!

Sugar3 Boutique on Facebook is having their Villainous Launch going on right now. Karen of Layla*and*Stitch and I collaborated for this fun launch. Karen made the shirts and I made the hats to match.

I believe the shirts are already sold but if you are interested in them, you can contact Karen on her business page on Facebook, Layla and Stitch Children's Boutique and ask her if she will be making anymore. Two of the Evil Purple Minion hats have already been purchased with Buy It Now, but once I am caught up with orders, I plan to list these fun hats in my Etsy store.

This collaboration was so much fun! I always enjoy working with Karen. She has been making beautiful boutique clothing for my girls for seven years now. She is very talented and her designs are absolutely amazing. The Sugar3 Villainous launch ends tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. CST so if you get a chance, please stop on by. There are a lot of wonderful designs available for this fun launch!

Summer Sister Portraits

Yesterday I took the girls to Wegerzyn Park for a fun sister photo shoot. The weather was perfect! The temperature was in the high 70's with no humidity, lots of sunshine, and blue skies. The girls wore their cute matching sister dress sets. I had purchased the dress sets earlier this past spring from Mellonmonkeys on Etsy.

My little "thumb sucker" had a visit today with the orthodontist. She is six years old and hasn't kicked her bad habit quite yet. All of her front permanent teeth are all grown in and she is ruining them. Because of this, she is having a thumb habit corrector appliance put in within two weeks and it looks like braces may be in her future. She isn't exactly thrilled with this and still thinks that she will continue sucking her thumb once this appliance is in. She is such a defiant yet sweet little thing.

There is never a dull moment with these two, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

More Summer Flip Flop Styles

Over the weekend I found about nine pairs of flip flops left to customize so I decided to customize a few to add to my Etsy store. The first pair I pulled out was a brightly rainbow colored pair. The first thing that came to my mind was how perfect these would be for a pool party. I added a few fun colored fish to them and accented them with some fun fringe green yarn that resembles seaweed. You can find them in my Etsy store HERE.

The next pair I found was black with silver hearts. I decided to crochet some Monster High skulls to add to them since they had that punk rock look to them. You can find these fun Monster High Flip Flops HERE.

The last pair I had customized a little while ago. I liked the flower pattern on these. I decided to crochet a flower appliqué that resembled the flowers within the pattern on them. You can find these pretty Navy Daisy Flower Flip Flops HERE.
