A Birthday Celebration..Kindergarten Style

Zella's 6th birthday was officially Thursday, but we celebrated last night with family and a handful of her classmates from school at a place called Jumpy's.

There really wasn't a theme this year; just lots of colorful fun!
My friend Vanessa made Zella's cake this year. She is the one who made Xiera's fabulous Fairy Mushroom House cake for her party last year and the adorable bear cake for my best friend's baby shower last year. We love and admire her talent for making beautiful and fun cakes.

Inside this cake was even more colorful fun....

Everyone loved it; especially the birthday girl!

She had fun and mommy was able to relax, so it was a win, win all around! Happy Birthday Zelly Belly!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! For Xiera's Valentine party at school today, she made this adorable kitty cat box to store all of her special Valentines from all of her friends.

It is complete with a crocheted pink tail. ;)

She is so excited to show it off to all of her friends today.

I am actually heading out within the hour to help out with both of the girls' Valentine parties at school. Here is what I made for all of the kiddos to snack on.

Although this is not my picture, my trix treats turned out the same. Photo is courtesy of Cravings of a Lunatic. I hope they all brought their sweet tooth.

100th day of school

Today is the 100th day of school for my girls. The kindergarteners were able to dress up like 100 year old men and women to celebrate. Zella was all gussied up this morning for the occasion.
She was dressed to impress in her knee high socks, hair scarf, white gaudy beaded necklace, and a pair of Xiera's old glasses. We took out the lenses. She even smelled flowery since I sprayed a little Bath and Body works Peony body splash on her. And to top it all off, I added a little pink blush to her cheeks and a little lip gloss to her lips. What a fun idea!

The Little Mermaid and Her Friends

I recently had a request for a crochet Sebastian the crab and Flounder the fish appliques. She wanted to add them to a crocheted blanket that she is giving as a gift for an upcoming baby shower. She wanted 2 Flounder fishes and 2 Sebastian crabs.
After I finished them, I really wanted to crochet Ariel the Mermaid to finish the collection. They just looked so lonely without her.
I plan on adding these appliques to my Etsy store by the end of the week. I plan to list them as a set and also separarely. I am very pleased with how they all turned out.

I Dream of Cream

Yesterday I finished this gorgeous creme scarf for my sweet customer and dear friend, Bekah. It is made of the softest textured yarn, Yarn Bee's Cameo Bulky in Cameo Cream. I loved every minute crocheting this because it was so soft and fluffy to work with. She wanted a touch of pink, black, and grey mixed in to match her coat so I added an elegant flower design to the ends.
I crocheted pink roses with grey leaves and white flowers with silver centers. I added a whimsical black stem design to tie it all together. To finish it off, I put a bit of fluffy fringe onto the scarf ends.
I absolutely LOVE how this turned out. I know Bekah will love it too.

Pinky and Flutters

Tonight at 8:30 p.m. Eastern time, Who's Who Boutique Designer Group on Facebook is having their Valentine Love Letters Launch. The launch ends tomorrow night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Time. Pinky and her sister Flutters are my contributions for the launch!

They would make GREAT pin cushions, Valentine decor, or cuddly friends for that special child. The adorable heart-shaped cookie pins are NOT available, but I will tell you where to find them.
Arielle of KawaiiCuteCreation on Etsy made them and she has a lot of super kawaii jewelry, pins, and more in her store that you will absolutely LOVE. I know my daughter Xiera currently has her pizza slice earrings on her wishlist.

Granny Square Kitty

Happy New Year my friends! Remember the kitty I found on Little Woolie's blog that I wanted to make for Xiera? Well it is all finished and it turned out so adorable. I made kitty a bit bigger than the original and added a sweet little heart collar.

Xiera adores her and has named her Cupcake. I think she looks like a Cupcake too.

Maybe...Just Maybe...

Xiera has been asking me to crochet her a kitty cat. I wonder if I can get this one done before Christmas. :) Isn't it absolutely adorable? It was created by Jules of Little Woolie. If you have a chance, you should swing on by her blog. She crochets so many pretty things. She has the pattern for this kitty available on her blog for free too! You can find it HERE.

Wilbur The Walrus

I finally finished the last of my rushed Christmas orders and feel a giant weight lifted off of my shoulders. Wilbur the Walrus was my last order and he turned out so silly and adorable.

He is the largest stuffed animal I have ever crocheted. He is almost 10 inches long and is so chubby and cute. When I first crocheted his body, I laughed because it looked like a giant potato.
I purchased the pattern from daveydreamer on Etsy. You can find the pattern HERE. Wilbur was a lot of fun to crochet so if you decide to crochet him yourself, you will not be disappointed. The pattern is very easy to follow.
Now I can work on wrapping presents, and cleaning the house in preparation for our family who is visiting us on Christmas Eve.
